About Me

Hi! I am Shana. My favorite color is purple. I think Calculus is awesome. I find poop jokes hilarious. I tell you these things up front so you know the kind of person you’re dealing with.

I am a mother of two boys. I work full time and am the primary income earner in my family. My husband is a stay at home dad. One might call me an accidental attachment parent. It turns out I am much more crunchy in parenting style than I ever thought I would be. It’s really just about what makes my life easier and what works best for my family.

My politics are liberal. I identify as a feminist. I have been known to rant about these issues from time to time. You don’t need to agree with my viewpoints, but please be respectful in your comments and I will attempt to engage you in dialogue.

I started this blog in 2009 as a means of keeping in touch with out of town family and friends. In 2010, this blog served as my therapy as I lost two pregnancies, my father, and my grandmother. These days this blog serves as a place to store my brain droppings on anything and everything. Mostly I write to create a keepsake of my early parenting years so that, in my half delirious state of chronic sleep deprivation, I don’t forget these years – the good parts as well as the not so good parts. Hopefully my kids won’t hate me for this when they are teenagers.
